Surgeon General's Report on Physical Activity and Health

Released in 1996, The US Surgeon General's Report on Physical Activity and Health is a landmark document that brings together, for the first time, what has been learned about physical activity and health from decades of research. The report summarizes scientific findings on the relationship between physical inactivity and poor health. In addition, the document promotes specific physical activity recommendations for individuals.
