Raleigh Greenway Bike Tour
Join us for an exploration of Raleigh’s new Reedy Creek Greenway and the North Carolina Art Museum’s park, outdoor art and nature trails. The trip will start promptly at noon with a departure from the Carolina Inn via bus. The bike trip will begin at Umstead State Park and will travel along the Reedy Creek Greenway, stop at the NC Museum of Art, continue over the recently constructed I-440 pedestrian bridge and on into Raleigh neighborhoods. The tour will pass by the Rose Garden of the Raleigh Little Theatre and will end at Cameron Village, which was built in 1949 as an alternative to downtown shopping and provides an example of retro-fitting a suburban style shopping center. Please note: Participants should be prepared for physical activity, which will include a seven-mile bike ride with some hills, and walking on nature trails at the museum park. The registration fee covers the cost of transportation, bike and helmet rentals, and lunch.
