This project is funded under the Foundation's program, Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities, which was designed to implement systems, policies and environmental strategies with potential to prevent childhood obesity in populations at greatest risk. The purpose of the project is to research, develop and implement policies that create systems and environments that encourage healthy food and activity choices. Deliverables include developing a project vision for advocates, policymakers and the community, creating a Healthy Environment Policy Board to develop, advise and advocate for local polices addressing food, activity and transportation and establishing measurable outcomes to track and interpret findings to guide the Healthy Environmental Policy Board.
