In response to the Call for Proposals (CFP), Active Living By Design received a record-setting 966 applications from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Thirty-eight partnerships, representing a wide range of communities and proposed initiatives, have submitted full proposals. The final 25 were announced on Nov. 13, 2003. More information on these community partnerships can be found here.

Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities

Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities (HKHC) is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) that focuses on systems, policies and environmental strategies to support healthy eating and active living, especially among children who are at highest risk for obesity. Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities will work with up to 70 local community partnerships across the country to help them increase opportunities for physical activity and improve access to affordable healthy foods for children and families. This initiative will advance RWJF's efforts to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic by 2015. The program is directed by Active Living By Design.

The Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities CFP process is now closed.
